INTRODUCING Giorgio Quintini Paleologo (1933-2013)

Giorgio Quintini Paleologo
12th May 1933 - 8th October 2013

This is the last portrait of Giorgio, done in Rome by the Belarus artist Andrei Dubinin. Earlier portraits and photographs of him will be posted here. The blog will deal with Giorgio's multifaceted life in various ways. One of the first will be to explain the name that has been chosen for the blog and the deep motivations for Giorgio's assumption of the name Paleologo for social and genealogical reasons, because of the ascendants of his paternal grandmother.
It should be mentioned here that before Giorgio's death his genealogical and artistic archive passed to the editor of this blog to be saved from dispersal and the blog should be a place where memories of him may be shared, facts be made available, and oblivion held at bay.
Please write to giorgioqp@libero.it if you would like something published. Giorgio was sometimes a controversial figure and all comments (by email please) will be moderated.

  1. from Stefano Repetto in Ovada:
"He always stuck to his ideas and convictions, a loyal person unable to compromise, often against his own good."
